Our house in the Islands of Turku - yes, we do have a bridge to the main land

In August 2014 our house was dropped from the sky. Literally. But not very hard. Gently.

It is a ready made house by Kannustalo (model Aurora with Rauhala features) and was almost completely done when it arrived here (including cabinets, wall papers & sauna). All but the fireplace and kitchen counter top was already in place as the modules arrived to the plot.

It took about 3 days for the crew to assemble it (put on the roof, porches and stairs) and after that we could have moved in. So our big building project took about 2,5 months (starting from the building permission, creating the foundations and to moving in).

I'm of course lying. The building permit took 11 months to get (thank you city!). And the garden is a never-ending (and nerve wracking) process.

Still in the factory!

Here are some pictures form our building process along the way.
First module took a fight with a birch tree.
The house won. I was screaming: "NO-NO-NO-NO!!!"

Drinking champagne with the neighbors - tough building!
