Feng shui corrections in the kitchen
My spring update on indoor decorations has been franctic - and all my friends know this and seem to be mildly amused. The best thing has been the kitchen feng shui update. I just turned the table around and everything got better. The table was bought for the house but since the lamp place was in the wrong spot, we had it sideways for 3 years. Of course you need your taller half to fix the lamp in the right place but otherwise we survived quite well with this.
The lamp is a combination of Clas Ohlsson lamp and my moms old lamp fixture. I painted the upper side blue with craft chalk paint and fitted a bigger bulb in it.
But about the table. I always wanted a big enough table to entertain, gather around and do some arts, homework and baking. It is made from recycled wood and I think from Belgium. Eames chairs comply the table and I love it!
New carpet was bought under the table since we did not have old ones big enough and noticed that the floor does not like the chairs being rocked and moved back and forth. It is quite difficult to find nice looking, big and cheap enough carpets. This one was only 180€ (it is not real wool) and I think it was a bargain. Just try not to spill red wine on it, pleeeease.
We did also a little DIY shelf with my 5 year old son. Purchased some leather from the shoemakers shop and polished one old plank found from the garage. Voila! We have a shelf. Oh, and I broke some old bulbs to get my small air plant a home. The other one acts as a flower vase.
I like art work and graphics on the walls and tried to rearrange some of the pictures. We added also our own art with those oval frames found from the flea market. They are dark blue bakelite / plastic but quite funky.
